Should my OneFront page be a Person or an Organization?
Updated July 20, 2026
The short answer
Choose Person if the page represents you as an individual (a creator, consultant, or professional) and Organization if it represents a company, brand, or team. The choice sets the page's structured-data type — schema.org Person or Organization — which tells search engines and AI tools what kind of entity your page is about. You set it once on the Profile tab and can change it later.
Most link-in-bio tools treat every page the same. OneFront asks one question that changes how the whole page is understood by machines: are you a person or an organization? The answer sets your page's schema.org type, which is the label AI tools and search engines use to decide what kind of thing your page is about.
Why the distinction matters
A schema.org Person node carries things like a name and job title and links to individual social profiles. An Organization node describes a company or brand. When a tool reads your page, that type frames everything else — a Person named "Acme Studio" and an Organization named "Acme Studio" tell very different stories. Matching the type to reality means AI answers about you land closer to the truth.
A quick rule
If someone would say "who is this?" choose Person. If they'd say "what is this company?" choose Organization. Solo brands can go either way — pick whichever matches how you want to be found, and change it later if that changes.
How to choose person or organization, step by step
- 1Open the Profile tab. Go to Profile in your dashboard, where the entity type setting lives alongside your name and bio.
- 2Pick Person or Organization. Select Person for an individual identity page, or Organization for a company or brand page.
- 3Save. Save — OneFront regenerates your page's schema.org data as a Person or Organization node accordingly.
Frequently asked
- Does this change how my page looks?
- It mainly changes the structured data (the machine-readable type). The visible layout stays the same; the difference is how AI tools and search engines classify the page.
- Can a solo brand be an Organization?
- Yes. If you present as a company or product rather than as yourself personally, Organization is the more accurate type — pick whichever matches how you want to be found.
